About 1,000 persons regarded as economic
migrants from the Macedonian authorities in Skopje, organized a protest in the
Greek-Macedonian border.
Gevgelija protests in the border area,
come after Macedonian officials have begun to refuse the entry of migrants who
are not from Syria, Iraq, or Afghanistan.
Most of the protesters are migrants from
Iran, Libya, Morocco, Somalia and Bangladesh.
Standing behind barbed wire along the
border, many of the migrants have told Radio Free Europe, they have been
waiting in the border area for days, in order to pass from Macedonia to the
European Union.
Skopje has imposed restrictions such as
Serbia and Croatia have announced that they will turn back migrants who are not
from Syria, Iraq, or Afghanistan.
